Turituri and Morgan Land At Arizona For College!

They both went and visited and they both loved it.  And now Oregon's Derrick Turituri and RJ Morgan have committed to play on scholarship for Rich Rodriguez and the Wildcats.  Go figure the first year Coach of the Wildcats would find two studs for his rebuilding process way out at Crater High School.  A long way off of Arizona's recruiting grid.

Last week we covered the amazing rise of RJ Morgan and you can Catch that Story here!  The kid came out of nowhere to land the offer and it was all based on his direct and successful approach of going after the coaches himself and putting himself and his film out there.  He got the Arizona deal last week and pulled the trigger quickly pledging himself to the Cats.

His team mate Derrick Turituri is a different story.  He was hot last year and after getting out the to the Nike NFTC Camp just got hotter as everyone could see that his beastly frame and build and the speed he has were a potent combination.  He landed Arizona and then OSU in the past week.  And while it seemed he was a long way from a decision.

But yesterday he messaged us to let us know he was all done.  The Cats are getting him.   And he could not be happier.

But why leave Oregon and go all the way to Arizona?  After all OSU is right here?

"When I went over to U of A I loved everything about the school. Family atmosphere among everyone. The staff was great along with the players. I loved the set up of the school," said Turituri.

And Derrick had high praise for his new Coaches.

"Coach Rodriguez said that he doesn't want players that like football, he wants players that love it! That's me.  I've loved football since 3rd grade.  I did really like OSU and they treated me great as well.  I just thought that Arizona really was a fit for me for all those reasons."

What about that team mate of his?  Was that a consideration?

"RJ Morgan was under the radar but his hard work paid off.  He and I both have worked hard and have always wanted to go play D-1 football.  It'll be great to have my best friend since 6th grade come to the same school and play along side of me."

What more can you say?  This is America and today we celebrate the Freedom to Choose our own destiny.

These two stud from Crater High made up their minds, made their Choice, and look forward to making their impact on Arizona and the Pac 12 South!
